THE TENNESSEE AVIATION ASSOCIATION

The history of aviation in Tennessee is a story of imaginative and dedicated leadership that began in the 1930s. Political leaders realized, even then, how important a well-planned system of airports would become to the state's economic development and its future progress. Today, Tennessee's aviation system is not only the envy of the Southeastern region, but of the entire nation.

Air transportation is a basic element of Tennessee's economic progress and its future. The Tennessee Aviation Association was founded in 1990 to provide a focal point for aviation leadership and advocacy... for today and tomorrow.

The association is led by an Executive Committee, comprised of a cross-section of aviation industry leaders, representing both aviation "users" and "providers," dedicated to assuring Tennessee's continued aviation leadership in the Southeast.

A diverse membership within the TAA brings strength to the association and the aviation industry within the state and is, in part, a basis upon which the association was founded.

TAA has established a prominent and credible presence within the industry, with state and local governments, and among aviation groups across Tennessee and the nation. TAA encourages aviation businesses within the state to do business with each other whenever possible and assists in attracting new aviation industry to Tennessee. A basic priority of the association is to serve as a catalyst to coalesce the broad spectrum of avation interests within the state of Tennessee for the benefit of the entire industry and those it serves.
